In the late 1960s, the G12H speaker was developed through the integration of a heavy ‘H’ type magnet with the body of the G12M guitar speaker. This modification resulted in a speaker that delivers increased power alongside a distinctive tonal balance, characterised by firmer bass and a more pronounced treble.

Building upon this foundation, an ‘H’ magnet was incorporated into the G12M-65 Creamback, yielding a speaker that merges the sonic signature of a G12H with the power-handling capabilities of the Creamback. The outcome of this development is the G12H-75 Creamback, which efficiently provides 75 watts of power while preserving the unmistakable tone of the G12H. Notably, it features a tighter low end relative to the G12M-65 Creamback, as well as a punchier and more dynamic high end.

The inclusion of the ‘H’ magnet further enhances the focus, body, and depth of the Creamback’s tonal quality. This modification enriches individual notes, resulting in a highly articulate sound that is reminiscent of vocal characteristics. Such attributes render the G12H-75 Creamback exceptionally well-suited for lead guitar applications and enable it to produce a substantial sound when utilised within a 4x12 cabinet configuration.
