The Galaxy is a 50-watt channel-switching tube amplifier, crafted to provide cleaner tones and greater tube overdrive than any previous Supro model. This amplifier merges the pristine Supro preamp channel from the Keeley model, known for its pedal compatibility, with an overdrive channel designed by Zinky. This channel offers ample gain to move smoothly from a gentle breakup to rich tube saturation and sustain, all while maintaining dynamic response and tonal equilibrium at live performance volumes.
The Galaxy's all-tube signal path features a foot-switchable solo boost, a buffered effects loop, and a six-spring reverb that can be applied to either or both preamp channels. Its distinctive gain structure, premium reverb, sophisticated switching options, and a low-impedance effects loop position the Galaxy firmly in the domain of high-end American tube amplifiers, a sector initiated by innovators like Randall Smith, Paul Rivera, and Alexander Dumble.
Clean ChannelThe Galaxy clean channel is optimized for a clean tone and maximum headroom. Derived from our best-selling Keeley Custom amplifier model, this pristine preamp delivers a warm, balanced tone that can get very loud without distorting. The crystal clear sound of the Galaxy is specifically designed for players who want to use effects pedals and drop-tuned guitars while retaining a firm, fat bottom punch and crystal-clear top end across the entire fretboard.Overdrive ChannelThe Galaxy Overdrive channel comes fully loaded with independent Gain, 3-band EQ and Master Volume controls that allow precise frequency contouring and level matching with the robust clean channel. The result of a decade-long collaboration between Supro president David Koltai and legendary tube amp designer Bruce Zinky, the Galaxy Overdrive channel uses multiple cascaded tube stages to deliver a wide-open lead tone with more available gain than any other Supro.Tube ReverbThe tube-driven, six-spring reverb in the Galaxy amplifier is assignable to either one or both channels. A dedicated dwell control for the high gain channel is located on the rear panel and allows for preset attenuation of the signal feeding the reverb pan when the high-gain channel is turned on.Tube-Driven FX LoopAn all-tube FX loop stage provides a perfectly buffered signal to interact optimally with stompboxes, multi-effects, and modern switching systems that require the 4-cable method for inserting time-based effects in between the preamp and power amp stages of the Supro Galaxy.Cabinetry and SpeakersThe Supro Galaxy is available as a 1x12 combo or compact head dressed in a tuxedo-black leatherette Tolex with matching 1x12 and 4x12 half-back extension cabinet options.
