The ’59 Bridge Model (SH-1) is a vintage output humbucker perfect for rock and blues. Its vintage-inspired coils provide an airy tone typical of the P.A.F. family, enhanced by an Alnico 5 bar magnet and vacuum wax potting, making it suitable for lighter strings and louder amplifiers. This results in a pickup with rich old-school character, a brighter top end, and a slightly compressed sound.
The ’59 Neck Model is highly versatile and designed in the spirit of the original P.A.F. humbuckers. It offers sweet sustain, a warm sound, and clear attack. With slight modern refinements, it features a boosted high end for improved clarity and scooped mids for a smooth, open sound that enhances note clarity in chords.
While the ’59 Neck pairs best with the ’59 Bridge, it’s also widely used with high-output bridge humbuckers like the JB or Custom, making it a popular choice for humbucker-routed Telecasters.
