The JB Model humbucker is our most popular pickup of all time, renowned across various genres such as blues, country, fusion, punk, hard rock, grunge, and thrash. Its versatile tone has always been perfectly suited to both classic and emerging styles. The low end is full and powerful, while the highs are crisp and detailed. There’s an upper-midrange boost that enhances the crunch and chunk of heavy chords, yet it also delivers a singing, vocal-like quality for single notes or solos. The hot output drives your amplifier harder, providing increased sustain and harmonics.

For optimal sound, use a 500k volume pot for excellent high-end clarity, or opt for a 250k pot to create a sweeter, softer tone that's ideal for smoother styles. The JB pairs exceptionally well with the Jazz or '59 neck pickups, and some players prefer using a JB in the neck position for a richer solo tone.

Handcrafted in our Santa Barbara, CA factory, the JB Model features an Alnico 5 bar magnet, a nickel silver bottom plate, and 4-conductor lead wire for various wiring options, including series, parallel, and split coil. It is also vacuum wax-potted for squeal-free performance. The pickup is available in standard humbucker and Trembucker spacing for 6-string guitars, as well as passive mount options for 7-string guitars.
