The M-EQ DRIVER is a Mid Booster & Drive pedal inspired by the vintage Pultec® studio EQ. These iconic passive EQs from the 1950s, still in demand today, are featured on countless hit records for their musically rich and flexible EQ curves and their capacity for overdriving the push-pull output stage. Instead of creating a direct copy, we've reimagined this timeless studio equipment as a compact, guitar-focused pedal.

Design the ideal mid boost, introduce some studio-like saturation, or drive the pedal's valve-like output stage to produce intense "cocked wah" distortion. Thanks to our Adaptive Circuitry, the M-EQ DRIVER remains consistently responsive and precise, offering a distinct character

The original Pultec® studio EQs are celebrated for their exceptionally natural and musical EQ curves. We have re-engineered this timeless, passive EQ, optimizing it for electric guitars. The M-EQ DRIVER allows you to select from 0.8, 1.0, and 1.3 KCS mid boost frequencies, preserving the vintage "Kilocycles Per Second" label—now known as Kilohertz. 

This versatile mid boost is compatible with various guitars and can produce a spectrum of saturation effects, from classic "mid-hump" overdrive to intense, resonant distortion tones. A transformer-equipped circuit adds harmonic richness and accurately replicates the sound of an original vintage Pultec®. 

By adjusting the MID knob and DRIVE control together, you can fine-tune the balance between mid boost and overdrive, tailoring your clean or distorted tones with the desired amount of mid emphasis. 

Innovating upon this classic design, we've outfitted the M-EQ DRIVER with our Adaptive Circuitry in the CUT control. Inspired by the High Frequency Attenuation band of a Pultec®, the CUT control gradually reduces treble as it's turned up. Engaging the ADAPT switch moderates this treble cut as the pedal's distortion decreases, ensuring a seamless shift from warm overdrive to clear, bright tones by simply modifying your guitar’s volume or your playing dynamics.
