The O‑Tone 40 is a compact powerhouse that blends Orange’s signature voicing with practical, modern flexibility. It features a single-channel Class A/B solid-state design and delivers full-bodied tone through its custom 12″ Voice of the World speaker. Its simple, intuitive layout, including volume and 3-band EQ, puts tone control right at your fingertips, while a footswitchable JFET tremolo and digital reverb add authentic vintage textures.
A fully buffered effects loop ensures pedals stay punchy without tone loss, and the CabSim headphone/line‑out provides a miked-up 4×12 realism for silent practice or direct recording. Weighing just under 12 kg, it’s light enough to carry, but loud enough for clubs. If you’re looking for clean sparkle all the way up to 11, the O‑Tone 40 delivers that classic Orange feel with reliability and valve-free convenience.
Footswitchable Tremolo
The O‑Tone 40’s built-in tremolo is more than a nod to vintage amps, it’s a serious performance tool. Based on a smooth JFET circuit, the tremolo adds warm, pulsating movement to your sound without introducing background noise or harshness.
Speed and depth are adjustable from the front panel, and the effect can be turned on and off via a footswitch, making it ideal for dynamic, expressive playing. Whether you want subtle shimmer or bold rhythmic throb, the tremolo circuit adds texture and versatility to your tone with effortless onstage control.
Buffered Effects Loop
A quality effects loop can make or break a rig, especially when you’re running multiple pedals. The O‑Tone 40 features a fully buffered effects loop designed to maintain the integrity of your signal, preserving tone and dynamics from input to output.
Whether you’re stacking modulation and delay or running long chains, this loop ensures your sound stays well defined, and free from unwanted tone loss. It’s ideal for players who use ambient effects or complex pedalboards and want consistent performance onstage and in the studio.
Digital Reverb
The O‑Tone 40’s onboard reverb offers the spaciousness and character of a spring tank with none of the hum or fuss. Designed to sound warm, natural and musical, it adds depth without washing out your tone. Whether you’re looking for a subtle room ambience or a more dramatic, surf-inspired splash, the reverb remains responsive and articulate. Because it’s digital, it’s ultra-reliable and consistent, making it a perfect match for modern players who need studio-grade effects without the extra gear. Great tone, built in, and always ready.
