Mad Professor Blueberry Bass Overdrive (BBBO)

The Mad Professor Blueberry Bass Overdrive (BBBO) is a boutique bass overdrive pedal designed to give bass players a warm, dynamic, amp-like breakup that preserves low end while adding harmonic richness. It’s well-known for being responsive to playing touch — dig in for more grit, lighten up for a cleaner tone, and for delivering overdrive that feels natural rather than fizzy or harsh.

Key points about the Blueberry Bass Overdrive:

Tone profile: Warm, smooth, vintage-style drive with plenty of body and no loss of low end.
Controls:
- Volume – overall output level.
- Drive – amount of overdrive from subtle grit to heavier saturation.
- Nature adjusts the tone, character and EQ curve; counter-clockwise is darker, clockwise brings out more presence and bite.
Dynamic response: Highly touch-sensitive; reacts to how hard you play.
Applications: Works equally well for adding subtle tube-like warmth, driving a mix with rock grit, or pushing an already-driven amp into rich saturation.
Bypass: True bypass is used to preserve tone when off.

It’s a favourite among bassists who want a musical, organic drive without losing the low-end punch or clarity that’s essential for bass.
