The ECC83 MG is a 12AX7 variant with mid-gain, resulting in fuller and richer mid-tones due to its medium long plate. It produces a softer sound compared to the standard ECC83, with very low noise and microphonics.
This well-balanced valve provides a concentrated mid boost and less gain than the ECC83s. If you're seeking more detail and headroom, this could be the right valve for you. It offers more gain than a 5751, making it a suitable option for the V1 position.
