Hagstrom Ultra Max - Golden Eagle Burst

The Ultra Max shares the same smaller concept as the Ultra Swede, but with a slightly larger proportioned mahogany body topped with a thick custom-carved flame maple top. The body joins to a mahogany set neck utilising a mortise and tenon neck joint with a 25.5” scale length, naturally featuring Hagstrom’s H-Expander™ truss-rod and Resinator™ fingerboard.

Its sleek and ultra-comfortable fast neck is paralleled with a pair of Custom 60 Alnico-5 pickups with eloquent Aluminium brushed covers, delivering a cutting voice that this instrument demands.

Each of the Ultra Max’s specially wound Custom 60 humbucking pickups utilises Nylon coated wire paired with an Alnico 5 magnet (unmistakably familiar to the Custom 58). However, the Custom 60 packs a mightier punch and a hotter sizzle compared to the vintage-voiced Custom 58.

Each pickup is controlled via an independent volume control featuring Hagstrom’s standard R/C circuit for cleaner tones. A single master tone control features a dual coil-split, using a push/pull configuration allowing players to switch between full humbucker to spanky single-coil tones in a heartbeat.
