The Friedman IR-J dual-channel tube preamp packs an entire Friedman setup into a compact, pedalboard-friendly unit. It features two fully independent, foot-switchable channels derived from the iconic JEL-100 and JEL-20 models, which are based on Dave Friedman's modified '800/PLEXI circuits. Each channel is energized by two high-voltage 12AX7 preamp tubes, delivering the rich harmonics and responsive feel of a full-sized Friedman tube amp.
The SYNERGY-powered, cutting-edge DSP IR cabinet/power amp simulation provides ultra-low latency, ensuring a studio-quality, mic'd-up sound to your DAW or live sound system. The IR-J offers straightforward controls for ease of use, bypassing the need for complex menus or extensive manuals.
