The Duesenberg Starplayer Alliance Series Mike Campbell is a stunning semi-hollow electric guitar that blends vintage tone, modern precision, and bold aesthetics. Designed in collaboration with Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, this guitar features a unique metallic blue finish with white racing stripes, paying tribute to Campbell’s signature style.
Crafted in Germany, the Starplayer boasts a laminated spruce top with flamed maple back and sides, delivering warmth, clarity, and controlled resonance. The set-in maple neck with Indian rosewood fingerboard and 22 jumbo frets offers superb playability, further enhanced by Duesenberg’s precision Plek setup.
Equipped with a Domino P90 pickup in the neck and a GrandVintage humbucker in the bridge, it offers a versatile range of tones—from creamy cleans to articulate overdrive. The custom middle pickup position adds a distinctive filtered tone for added character. Hardware includes Duesenberg’s Deluxe Radiator Tremola and rock-solid Z-Tuners for stability and expressiveness.
A true performer’s instrument, the Mike Campbell Starplayer is as iconic as it is reliable—ideal for players seeking top-tier craftsmanship, rich tone, and unmistakable stage presence.
Construction
The Alliance Series Mike Campbell comes in two different constructions. The smaller, Starplayer TV-shaped instruments feature our versatile semi-hollow construction with a solid centre block. The big-body Mike Campbell Hollow is all-hollow for a lot of moving air and feedback control.
Premium PickupsAll Editions come with our premium pickups. The blue and green versions are fitted with our acclaimed set of pickups that combines the sharp tone of a bridge humbucker with the warmth of a P90 in the neck position. The red all-hollow version features two P90 pickups for a pure and raw hollow tone.
