After amassing a collection of flangers beyond what any law would consider reasonable, we retreated to the lab to dissect the essence of the effect. The outcome was the STS-88, an ode to the flanger. Our development area boasts a variety of units, ranging from the well-known Boss HF-2 and EHX Electric Mistress to rarer finds like the Effectron ADM256 and MXR Flanger/Doubler. During a late-night session of pedal testing, we found that surrounding a flanger with deep reverb was the key.

However, this perfect blend was marred by unwanted noise, so we incorporated a subtle noise gate to suppress the inherent hiss of the guitar and the LFO clock noise. The end product is a highly musical flanger that seamlessly integrates with your instrument, yet it's ready to soar when preceded by a touch of grit.
