Inspired by Brian May's legendary 'Red Special', an instrument that has achieved iconic status and a unique place in rock history, and designed in conjunction with Brian May himself, the result is a stunning guitar. It boasts superb build quality, awesome playability, and an astonishingly rich diversity of killer tones.

Indeed, it delivers everything you would expect from an instrument built to the exacting standards of one of the world's greatest guitarists. In line with Brian's vision of a "guitar for the people," it comes with an amazingly affordable price tag that belies its superior quality and performance.

Undoubtedly one of the most eagerly anticipated instruments of the century, the Brian May Signature was originally launched in winter 2001 to rapturous critical and public acclaim. Guitarist magazine hailed it as the "Best Guitar of the Year," and theatre audiences worldwide were thrilled by the guitar's sound in performances of the Queen musical "We Will Rock You."

However, the story didn't end there. Working once again with Brian and his long-standing guitar technician Pete Malandrone, House Music has significantly improved the guitar's overall construction and refined the bridge assembly, electronics, finishing, and color choices. In short, the world's best artist-designed guitar has just gotten even better.

Over 40 years ago, due to the high cost of quality electric guitars and our love for challenges, my Dad and I embarked on creating one. I designed an instrument from the ground up, aiming for it to surpass any existing guitar in tunability, pitch range, sound variety, and a superior tremolo, with the unique feature of controlled feedback in a self-sustaining mode.

Ironically, electric guitars were initially designed to avoid feedback, yet musicians like Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, and Jimi Hendrix embraced it. With my Dad's technical expertise, we realized this vision. After two years of meticulous handcrafting, the "Red Special" or "Old Lady" was born, accompanying me for 30 years of Queen's live and studio performances globally.

Over time, numerous Red Special replicas emerged, crafted by both enthusiasts and professionals, leading to significant collaborations with Guild Guitars in the USA and Burns Guitars in the UK. By 2006, I took charge of its commercial production, partnering with Barry Moorhouse of House Music and my long-time technician Pete Malandrone. Together, we established BRIAN MAY GUITARS, committed to delivering the finest guitars at accessible prices, allowing everyone to experience the distinctive sound and feel of a Brian May guitar.
