The Echoplex EP-3 tape echo unit is celebrated for its warm modulation and rich tones, making it a staple of iconic guitar sounds since the 1970s. However, original EP-3 units are often expensive, temperamental, and bulky.

The EP103 Echoplex Delay offers EP-3’s legendary tones in a compact design similar to a Phase 90. It features a simple control interface: the Delay control adjusts the time between repeats (65ms to 750ms), the Sustain control sets the number of repeats, and the Volume control manages the output level.

In Age mode, the pedal mimics a fresh tape echo, while turning the Volume knob darkens the tone, increases saturation (distortion), and enhances modulation as it ages. The EP103 combines its delay signal with tonal enhancements from the EP101 Echoplex Preamp; meanwhile, the dry path remains untouched.
