The Belton VT8-PT is an 8-pin octal-style PCB-mount vacuum tube socket designed for electronic circuits that use octal (eight-pin) vacuum tubes such as power, preamp, or rectifier types. It’s commonly used in guitar amps, hi-fi gear, DIY valve electronics, and repair projects where a strong and reliable connection to the tube is needed.
Typical Applications
Tube amplifier builds and repairs
High-voltage tube circuits
DIY electronic projects involving octal tubes
Key Features
8-pin octal configuration for standard tubes with octal bases.
PCB mount with long leads — pins designed for soldering directly to a printed circuit board.
Micalex (glass-filled PPS) insulating body — strong, heat-resistant material to support reliable insulation and high voltage operation.
Phosphorous bronze terminals with tin plating for solid electrical contact.
Top or bottom mount capability, making installation versatile.
Standard octal mounting dimensions — requires about a 1¼″ (~30 mm) chassis hole and has ~1½″ (~40 mm) mounting centres.
This socket provides a durable and economical base for solder-in tube applications where a board-mounted part is preferred over traditional chassis-only mounts.
