METAL MONSTER~~

MMX METAL MONSTER

Who says metal is dead? It seems that heavy music has once again taken the world by storm, only a few short years after all the "experts" said that it was a dying fad. The rebirth of heavy music marks a renewed interest in super-saturated guitar tones, brutal drop-tuned riffs and bone-crushing rhythms.

The key to keeping these chainsaw chops razor sharp is the "scooped-mid" guitar tone - crank your low-end, boost your highs, and turn down those mids and you've got it. To achieve this, you need a distortion device that offers complete control over the entire tonal range.

That's why you need the Guyatone MM-X Metal Monster. The MM-X is the absolute last word in high gain distortion devices. It offers gobs of grinding gain and singing sustain that were previously unattainable without the use of the most powerful tube amplifiers at full-bore volume (did we mention most expensive and heaviest as well?).

The Metal Monster's hybrid tube/solid state distortion circuit yields everything from subtle overdrive to extreme saturation worthy of the blackest black metal band. Its Three-stage EQ section allows for precise control over all frequency bands, with a parametric midrange that covers the "sweet spot" between 200-5kHz. The MM-X's controls allow for an unlimited variety of brutal tones, including the trademark "scooped mids" made famous by bands like Metallica and Pantera.

If other distortions just aren't enough, try the MM-X on for size!~METAL MONSTER|GUY-METAL-MMX|~5623~6977~GUIYATONE, METAL MONSTER, OVERDRIVE~

TUBE ECHO~~

Vintage Tone meets the 21st Century TD-X TUBE ECHO

Guyatone has always been known for its great sounding time-delay units. Our MD-3 Micro Delay is widely considered to be the best sounding digital delay on the market. Its predecessor the MD-2 was touted by users and music press alike as the best-sounding delay that money could buy. Our MR-2 Micro Reverb has achieved legendary status as players the world over pay top dollar for this elusive piece which was discontinued years ago. Likewise, our AD-X Tube Analog delay remains highly sought-after on the used market, despite the fact that it has never been officially marketed in the States!

In keeping with this tradition of great-sounding delay units, we are extremely proud to present the Guyatone TD-X Tube Echo! Not only does this unit mark a first for Guyatone as they move in a new direction of hybrid digital/analog effect units, it also deserves landmark status as the first Guyatone unit that was conceived and designed in conjunction with Godlyke, Inc.! Now that we're done patting ourselves on the back, let's explain exactly what sets this unit apart from the crowd...

The TD-X takes the popular MD-3 Micro Delay circuit and combines it with a custom-designed filter array that allows the TD-X to emulate a vast variety of vintage and modern delay sounds. Like the MD-3, the TD-X features 2600 milliseconds of delay time with Delay Level, Delay Time, and Feedback controls with switchable Short, Medium and Long delay ranges. Using these controls an entire range of classic delay effects can be achieved; from rockabilly slapback to Arena-rock washes of excess to sound on sound layering that slowly fades into infinity. Also like the MD-3, the TD-X can be used to create erratic, runaway echoes and self-oscillation by manipulating the Delay Time and Feedback controls.

Unique to the TD-X are its two Simulator controls. While most digital units emulate analog tones by using a high frequency roll off, the TD-X uses a frequency filtering system combined with tube warmth and saturation for a unique, organic delay tone that is much more realistic than digital modeling.

The Analog Simulation control blends in tube saturation on the Delay Repeats against the unfiltered Delay sound. This saturation is similar to the effect of an Analog Delay unit on the original signal, where note clarity decreases with each additional repeat.

The Tape Simulation knob blends in a preset EQ curve against the unfiltered Delay sound. This EQ curve cuts ultra lows and high frequencies and boosts lows and mids, similar to the sound of a vintage tape echo unit. By adjusting these two controls accordingly, a virtually limitless variety of tonal nuances can be added to the Delay repeats: Set the Analog Sim on 2 for a slightly gritty Delay tone; or for a warm, dark Delay set the Tape Sim on 5. For extreme distorted Delay, put both controls on 10. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination!

To round out the package, the TD-X features dual Outputs (Wet and Dry), allowing the user to run it in stereo with multi-amp setups or when recording. The TD-X also features True Bypass Switching using a 3PDT mechanical switch to assure transparent operation in bypass.

Vintage tone with modern features - if you're ready to take your gear into the 21st century then don't delay - grab a TD-X!~TUBE ECHO|GUY-FLIP-ECHO-TDX|~5623~5629~GUYATONE, TUBE ECHO, FLIP~

VINTAGE TREM~~

ALL THE GREATEST TUBE-AMP TREMOLO TONES IN A SINGLE STOMPBOX TD-X VINTAGE TREMOLO

The first offering in the Guyatone Flip series is the VT-X Vintage Tremolo. Created from painstaking analysis of vintage tube amplifiers, the VT-X stands up against the best tremolo circuits of yesteryear and in many ways surpasses them.

Housed in a rugged-yet-portable, 1/16"-thick steel chassis, the VT-X is built to handle a lifetime of use and abuse. The single, shock-mounted 12AX7WA draws power from an external 12V DC power adapter, eliminating transformer hum and grounding problems which can lead to excessive noise levels. Effect LED indicator and electronic silent switching make the VT-X ideal for live or studio performance.

Yet where the VT-X truly shines is in its tone. Warm, thick, throbbing tremolo that solid-state circuits just can't match. Variable Speed, Intensity, and Tone controls allow the user complete control over the degree of tremolo effect, offering everything from painfully slow, spongy pulses to vibrant, shimmering warbles. Dual outputs allow for true stereo imaging by panning the tremolo effect between two amplifiers.

So, if tube tremolo tones are you're bag, look no further than the VT-X to fuel your mojo. The classic sounds you crave without the hassle and expense of vintage gear. At long last, a tremolo effect worthy of the name Guyatone.~VINTAGE TREMOLO|GUY-TREM-VTX|~5623~5633~GUYATONE, TREMOLO, FLIP~

ULTRON Optical Auto Wah~~

ULTRON AUTO WAH

With optical circuitry based upon the vintage Mutron III envelope filter, the Ultron Auto Wah takes the soul of that classic effect and adds a variety of new and useful control features that set it apart from any other unit on the market.

With the Ultron three types of classic wah filter effects are available – Envelope Filter (filter effect controlled by pick attack), Auto Wah (filter effect controlled by internal oscillator), or Manual Wah (filter effect controlled via external expression pedal). For all three effect types the frequency range, direction and intensity of the filter effect are completely adjustable via the Threshold, Frequency, Drive and Peak controls on the unit’s front panel.

At the heart of the Ultron is Guyatone’s proprietary CPU controller which allows for quick selection of the Ultron’s primary effect function. Six Effect Modes are easily accessible from the unit’s front panel, and each Effect Mode features a Sub-Mode that can be accessed with a quick press of the Control Footswitch. If that wasn’t enough, the last two Modes also feature Bonus Modes that allow for manual selection of the oscillator Waveform via an external expression pedal.

The Six Effect Modes are as follows:

MOMENTARY WAVE – Functions as an Envelope Filter or, when Control Footswitch is pressed and held, an oscillator-controlled Auto Wah.
WAVE TAP –Functions as an oscillator-controlled Auto Wah with rate determined by tap tempo function of Control Footswitch.
PEDAL WAH/TOUCH – Functions as a Manual Wah with filter position controlled by the optional external expression pedal in Main Mode. Three selectable tapers (Linear/Audio/Reverse Audio) are available for the treadle. In Sub-Mode unit functions as an Envelope Filter.
PEDAL DEPTH/TOUCH - Main Mode varies Frequency Depth using the optional Expression pedal or functions as Envelope Filter in Sub-Mode
PEDAL SPEED1/TOUCH – Main Mode varies the speed of the Wave Form oscillation with the optional Expression Pedal over a range of 70-1000 mS. In Sub Mode the unit functions as an Envelope Filter.
PEDAL SPEED 2/TOUCH – Main Mode varies the speed of the Wave Form oscillation with the optional Expression Pedal over a range of 70-4000 mS. In Sub Mode the unit functions as an Envelope Filter.

Via these multiple Effect Modes, the user can achieve a limitless variety of filtering effects that can all be toggled through and tweaked in real time.

The Ultron’s CPU also offers six selectable waveforms when the unit is used in the oscillator-controlled Effect Modes - a variety of Triangle, Sawtooth, and Square Waves are available for quick selection via the unit’s front panel. In addition, the oscillator’s rate can be displayed in BPM or Milliseconds allowing for precise syncing to song tempo or external devices.

Like the Mutron III, the Ultron features selectable High Pass, Band Pass and Low Pass filters, allowing for use with a wide variety of instruments and input signals. Additionally, the Ultron features a Notch Filter setting which creates a “mid-scoop” effect particularly useful for Funk and Slap Bass.

The Ultron’s Range control offers similar improvements over the original Mutron, featuring the standard Hi and Lo ranges as well as the new Mid frequency range, which allows for much more precise positioning of the filter effect. The Ultron’s operation ranges can be further tweaked for use with specific instruments via an array of internal DIP switches.

We could go on and on regarding its features and functions, but to put it simply the Ultron is the ultimate Auto Wah! Whether you are looking to replace your vintage stompboxes or create an entire new range of filtering effects, the Ultron is a one-man audio arsenal!~ULTRON|GUY-ULTRON-OPT|~5623~7103~GUYATONE, AUTO WAH~

ULTREM Optical Trem~~

ULTREM OPTICAL TREMOLO

With optical circuitry based on the classic amp tremolo circuits of yesteryear, the Ultrem Optical Tremolo takes the tone of those legendary units and adds a variety of new and useful control features that set it apart from any other stompbox on the market.

With the Ultrem several types of tremolo and volume effects are available including oscillator-controlled Tremolo and manually-controlled Volume. Rate of the Tremolo can be controlled via tap tempo, the unit’s front-mounted Speed control, or an optional expression pedal. Dual outputs allow panning of the Tremolo effect between two amps or for use as an amp selector/blender in manual Volume Mode. Depth and Saturation controls allow for precise control of the degree and tonality of the effect as well as for use as a great-sounding Overdrive unit when the oscillator is disengaged.

At the heart of the Ultrem is Guyatone’s proprietary CPU controller which allows for quick selection of the Ultrem’s primary effect function.

WAVE TAP –Functions as an oscillator-controlled Tremolo with rate determined by tap tempo function of Control Footswitch.
MOMENTARY WAVE – Functions as an oscillator-controlled Tremolo when Control Switch is depressed and held – releasing switch disengages the effect. Rate is determined by unit’s Speed control.
PEDAL VOLUME/WAVE - Main Mode varies output Volume using the optional Expression pedal or functions as an oscillator-controlled Tremolo in Sub-Mode.
If set to Pan On, Ultrem can function as an amp selector/blender in Main Mode.
PEDAL DEPTH & WAVE TAP - Allows user to vary the Depth of the effect by using an optional Expression pedal, and also to adjust speed of Wave Tremolo by tapping tempo, instead of using pre-set controls.
PEDAL SPEED1/TOUCH – Main Mode varies the speed of the Wave Form oscillation with the optional Expression Pedal over a range of 70-1000 mS. In Sub Mode the unit functions as standard Tremolo.
PEDAL SPEED2/TOUCH – Main Mode varies the speed of the Wave Form oscillation with the optional Expression Pedal over a range of 70-4000 mS. In Sub Mode the unit functions as standard Tremolo.

By using these different Effect Modes, the user can achieve a limitless variety of Tremolo and Volume effects that can all be toggled through and tweaked in real time.

The Ultrem’s CPU also offers six selectable waveforms when the unit is used in the oscillator-controlled Effect Modes - a variety of Triangle, Sawtooth, and Square Waves are available for quick selection via the unit’s front panel, allowing the Ultrem to mimic any Tremolo type from the smooth, rolling tone of vintage amps to the tight “helicopter” chop so popular in today’s music. In addition, the oscillator’s rate can be displayed in BPM or Milliseconds allowing for precise syncing to song tempo or external devices.

The Ultrem also features an “auto-start” function that engages the Tremolo effect whenever there is an input signal and disengages when input signal returns to zero. This allows for “quick start” Tremolo that will be perfectly timed with the musical passage. The input sensitivity of this feature can be adjusted via an internal Trim Pot to allow use with a variety of different instruments and input signals.

We could go on and on regarding its features, functions, and sound, but to put it simply the Ultrem is the ultimate Tremolo! Whether you are looking to replace your vintage amps and stompboxes or create an entire new range of effects, the Ultrem is a one-man audio arsenal!~ULTREM|GUY-ULTREM-OPT|~5623~7106~GUYATONE, ULTREM~

BOTTOM BLASTER BB2~~Make their booty move! The BB-2 Bottom Blaster features Guyatone's proprietary "Sound Control System" (patent pending) circuitry that adds butt-shaking lows and sizzling highs to any bass sound! If your current gear just isn't moving enough air, the BB-2 is like adding a palm-sized hurricane to your rig!

The inherent problem with standard EQ circuits is that the various frequency bands they cut & boost tend to overlap at various points. These overlap points can alter the original input wave shape, resulting in muddy bottom-end or harsh hi-frequency peaks. The BB2's Bottom control emphasizes the ultra-low frequencies without overlapping the lower midrange, creating immense, chest-thumping bottom end that is fat and tight.

The Attack control adds a bright, crispy upper-midrange that works to bring out playing dynamics and allows any instrument to stand out in the mix. The BB2's Level control can add up to 30 dB of boost to the input signal, making it perfect for use as a clean booster.

In addition to turning any standard four-string into a lethal weapon, The BB-2 can improve the sound of the low-B on 5- and 6-string basses, making it clear, tight, and well defined even through a small amp! You may have noticed that the BB-2 doesn't have the standard plunger-type on/off footswitch - that's because once you've plugged it in you won't want to play without it!

Guyatone MC3
CHORUS~~

MICRO SERIES - MC-3 MICRO CHORUS

Chorusing effects are produced by slightly delaying an input signal and reintroducing it against the original while simultaneously varying the pitch by a small amount. This combination of signals gives the effect of two instruments playing at once - a chorus of instruments, so to speak. Unfortunately, many chorus pedals have the tendency to cut low end, leaving a thin, clinical tone that harkens back to the days of 1980's overproduced excess. The MC-3 Micro Chorus was designed to eliminate these problems and provide a rich, thick chorusing that picks up where other pedals leave off. The MC-3's circuit is based around the Panasonic MN3207 analog IC (now out of production) that is found in many more expensive units. Rather than thinning your sound, the MC-3 offers an increased low-end frequency response, making it suitable for use with any instrument including Bass, Guitar and Keyboards. In addition, the MC-3 offers a slight level boost when engaged that lets you jump out in the mix and be heard. The MC-3's Rate and Depth controls were custom tuned to provide radical amounts of control. Manipulating them will provide a wide variety of tones, from subtle detuning to Magnatone-like vibrato and full-throttle rotating speaker effects (a lot easier than carrying a Leslie around, we guarantee).~CHORUS|GUY-MC3|~5623~7098~GUYATONE, CHORUS~

COMPRESSION / SUSTAINER~~

MICRO SERIES - ST-2 COMPRESSION / SUSTAINER

Typically thought of as a "second string" pedal, a Compressor's creative capabilities are often overlooked due to pedalboard space constraints or the subtlety of the effect. The Guyatone ST-2 Compressor/Sustainer puts all these arguments to rest, offering extreme amounts of compression in an incredibly compact stompbox format.

The ST-2's variable Level and Sustain controls allow you to dramatically "squash" the input signal, yielding smooth, clean bell-like notes that last for days. In addition, the ST-2 features a direct on/off switch. When engaged, the direct switch blends in a dry input signal at equal volume with the compressed signal, eliminating the attack-altering characteristics common to other compressors.

By manipulating these three controls, the ST-2 can be used for a wide variety of applications. With the Sustain control set at maximum, the ultimate "chicken pickin" Guitar tone can be attained. With Sustain at minimum and the Level control above 12 o'clock the ST-2 can be used as a clean booster, perfect for overdriving the front end of an amp. Varying the Sustain and Level controls further will yield everything from subtle compression to signal limiting to note attack-altering effects similar to the SV-2! The ST-2's full-frequency response makes it ideal for use with any instrument including Guitar, Bass and Keyboards.

When big compressors don't offer enough, try the ST-2 on for size!~COMPRESSION / SUSTAINER|GUY-ST2|~5623~6981~GUYATONE, COMPRESSION, SUSTAINER~
Guyatone MD3
DELAY~~MD-3 MICRO DELAY

The reviews printed in Guitar Player, Guitar World, and Guitar One all praised the performance and tonal superiorty of the MD-2 Micro Digital Delay. Never satisfied with anything less than perfection, the Guyatone engineers set out to improve upon this masterpiece. The result: the MD-3 Micro Digital Delay.

Just what is so great about the MD-3? Quite simply, it offers the most authentic note reproduction of any delay device available, period. Notes come back exactly as you played them: Not rounder, harsher, warmer, colder, or altered in any manner whatsoever.

If you've ever played a tape echo, you know that their tone is not dark sounding like some people claim, but actually quite bright and clear. The MD-3 gives the user the crispness and clarity of a tape echo combined with the longer delay time of a digital, while its controls react like an analog unit. 30-2600 milliseconds of delay time are available, more than enough to create an entire range of classic delay effects from Rockabilly slapback to Arena-rock washes of excess and everything in between. At higher Feedback settings (above 3 o'clock) the MD-3 will self-oscillate like an analog delay, creating cacophonous cascades of repeats, UFO-landings, ray guns, and other bizarre sound effects. At lower Feedback settings (around 2 o'clock) the MD-3 can be used for multi-layering of short parts, creating beautiful, ethereal soundscapes that slowly fade into infinity. In addition, the MD-3 has a lower current draw than other digital units, which means you'll spend less time changing batteries and more time playing!

Quite possibly the smallest delay, unarguably the best: Try the MD-3 and discover what perfection is all about!~MICRO DELAY|GUY-MD3|~5623~5636~GUYATONE, DELAY~

EQUALISER~~

MICRO SERIES - ME-2 EQUALISER

If you're like most guitar players then you've probably spent a lot of your hard-earned money and even more of your precious time working to attain the perfect guitar tone. However, the fact remains that no matter how great your rig is it can sound different from room to room and gig to gig and may not be suitable for every musical style or situation.

The ME-2 Micro Equalizer let's you compensate for these different rooms and applications with ± 12dB of equalization over five separate frequency bands and ± 12 dB of output Level boost or cut. The frequency bands covered were carefully selected for optimum performance with electric guitar and include 150 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2.5 kHz, and 4.5 kHz.

To obtain maximum tone control with a limited number of frequency bands, the ME-2's filter circuit is specially tuned by lowering the "Q" (peak frequency) and enlarging the bandwidth of each frequency band. The result is a reduction of phase cancellation (muddy, thin sounds) at frequency crossover points, improved tonal character with lower noise levels, and increased tonal variation without peaking of any particular frequency band. The ME-2's versatile tone offerings allow it to be used as a notch filter, a feedback eliminator, or a clean level booster with no EQ.

Avoid being caught with anything less than great tone - Level your playing field with the ME-2!~OVERDRIVE PEDAL|GUY-ME2|~5623~6983~GUYATONE, EQUALISER~
Guyatone FL3
FLANGER~~ANALOG FLANGING WITH A TWIST

FL-3 FLANGER

Flanging first came into popularity in the 1960's. The effect was produced by slowing down playback of a recorded track by dragging a finger against the tape-reel "flange" to delay the signal. When this altered track was played back against the original the resulting peaks and notches in the frequency spectrum produced the signature "swoosh" we now know so well. Later the effect was duplicated using analog bucket brigade IC's and now, of course, with digital electronics. However, nothing has quite captured the sound of those old tape reels being slowed down and sped up.

Nothing until the Guyatone Fl-3 Flanger, that is. With a circuit based around the Panasonic MN3207 analog IC chip (now out of production), the FL-3 offers all the warmth and range of the original tape flanging effects without the need for multi-track tape machines. In addition the FL-3 offers an interesting twist: An asymmetrical sweep pattern that adds a more "human" feel to the flanging effect. The FL-3's sweep speed is slower going up to the peak frequency and faster coming off, giving it a slightly uneven, "whiplash" type effect unlike any other Flanger pedal.

The FL-3 also has a 3-position Resonance switch that adjusts the intensity of the flanging effect. In Position I rich chorus and vibrato effects can be attained by adjusting the Rate and Depth controls. Position II provides a warm, full-bandwidth flange while position 3 offers the radical, thick, jet-like sweeps that made this effect famous.

If you've been searching for unique new sounds, the FL-3 offers some new twists on an old favorite.~FLANGER|GUY-FL3|~5623~6985~GUYATONE, FLANGER, FL3~

Guyatone MT3
MICRO TUNER~~MT-3 MICRO TUNER

The MT-3 is a multi-function chromatic tuner that fits in the pocket of your gig bag and won't take up valuable space on your already-crowded pedalboard. The same micro technology used in the Guyatone PT-21 Chromatic Tuner enhances this functional pedal format, making it a versatile and essential professional tool.

The MT-3 works just like any other stompbox - plug your instrument into the input, plug the output into your amp and you're rocking. The MT-3's stomp switch mutes the input signal for silent tuning in either on or off mode, performing double duty as a "kill" switch for your rig. The MT-3's advanced circuitry won't alter the tone of your instrument when bypassed. If you prefer tuning to a reference pitch, the MT-3 can generate tones over a one octave (13 notes - A4-A5) range that can be adjusted at the touch of a button.

All of these functions and more can be accessed quickly and easily through the MT-3's simple "One Touch" calibration. All four modes of operation can be reached by pushing a combination of the unit's Power, Mode, and Select buttons (see instructions for particular combinations).

The MT-3 has four primary modes of operation:

TUNE MODE - Tune by connecting your instrument to the MT-3.

SOUND MODE - Tune listening to standard signal (audio tone) from MT-3.

CALIBRATION MODE - Sets frequency of standard pitch (A = 440 Hz at original setting). A4 pitch can be selected between 437 Hz and 445 Hz (1 Hz intervals)

AUTO CALIBRATION MODE - Calibrates standard pitch (A4) from an external instrument (range is A4 = 437 Hz - 445 Hz)

The MT-3's ultra-bright, digital display is easily visible even on dark stages. The user can select either "bar" or "dot" tuning indicators for the two color, 9-segment LED display. The MT-3 can be powered from an internal 9-volt battery (included) or an external AC adapter.~MICRO TUNER|GUY-MO3|~5623~7100~GUYATONE, TUNER~

OVERDRIVE~~

MICRO SERIES - OD-2 OVERDRIVE PEDAL

Over the years overdrives have become the "pedal of choice" for Rock and Blues purists looking to re-create the Guitar tones of their heroes. Extremely versatile, they can be used to add grit to a clean guitar sound, boost a solo, or to drive the front end of a tube amplifier harder. The problem is that most overdrives mask your guitar's original tone, leaving a boxy-sounding, overly compressed signal with poor low end and no dynamic responsiveness.

The Guyatone OD-2 Overdrive was designed to eliminate these inherent problems. The OD-2's circuit is based on the vintage "Tubescreamer" design with a few changes that offer marked improvements. The OD-2 features the JRC 9449G IC chip - the in-line equivalent to the legendary JRC 4558 IC that was a key element in the sound of the original Tubescreamer. This IC is smoother and less harsh-sounding than other versions, giving the OD-2 the same warm, tube-like voice as a vintage 'screamer.

Unlike many overdrives, the OD-2 has no tone control. We've found that fewer components equal better sound reproduction, and by eliminating the tone circuit the original guitar signal is reproduced more accurately. The result: Smooth, transparent, non-compressed overdrive that responds to picking dynamics and "cleans up" when the guitar volume is lowered. In addition, the OD-2 is voiced with more low-end than a Tubescreamer, giving it a bigger, thicker bottom than other Overdrive units.

If you need tube tone without tube-amp hassles, the OD-2 is the next best thing!~OVERDRIVE PEDAL|GUY-OD2|~5623~5638~GUYATONE, OVERDRIVE, OD2~

SLOW VOLUME~~

MICRO SERIES - SV-2 SLOW VOLUME

No, we haven't regressed to 50's slang terms to describe our products -the SV-2 Slow Volume actually makes your notes "swell" from zero to full volume, offering an unlimited variety of new tonal textures to expand your creative horizons.

The SV-2 is a voltage-controlled volume pedal based on the vintage Boss Slow Gear. The SV-2's Threshold control determines how hard a note's attack must be to trigger the effect, while the Speed control determines how fast the note will swell to full volume. Many effects can be achieved just by manipulating these simple controls, from straight volume swells to bowing effects to tape-reverse simulation.

Combined with other effects, the SV-2 becomes a truly unique creative device. Since it is envelope-controlled, the Slow Volume works best when placed at the front of a signal chain. Try it in front of an HD-2 and MD-2 for haunting, "whale song" effects. Or, put it in front of a WR-2 for swelled-wah effects. There are no rules, so don't be afraid to experiment!

Note: Like an envelope filter, the SV-2 must be "played" correctly in order to achieve maximum effect. Phrases must be played in a tight, almost staccato manner, with space left in between notes to allow the effect to re-trigger and track each successive one.

With practice, the SV-2 Slow Volume can become an invaluable creative tool you won't want to do without!~SLOW VOLUME|GUY-SV2|~5623~6980~GUYATONE, SLOW VOLUME~

SUSTAINER "D"~~

MICRO SERIES - SUSTAINER SD-2

Tube amp tone it the stuff of legend. Since the inception of the electric guitar, musicians have sought ways to emulate the sound and response of a full-up, hard working tube amp without the hassles and high volume levels. Sure, tube amps can add grit to your tone, but there is also an x-factor - the tube "sag" that gives that biting compression and singing sustain that is nearly impossible to achieve without having your axe in close vicinity to a cranked amp.

The problem is, using a compressor and distortion together can yield a noisy, ugly mess that sounds more like a lawnmower than a great amp!

Lucky for you, Guyatone invented the SD-2. The SD-2 combines all these tube amp attributes into one pint-sized pedal that adds arena-sized tone and endless sustain to any size rig, at any volume! The SD-2's Level control varies the overall output volume while the Gain control increases the amount of drive and compression.

By varying these two simple controls, the SD-2 can offer everything from subtle boosts to creamy, violin-like tones that other distortions can only brag about! At maximum Gain settings the SD-2 literally latches onto notes, creating a singing sustain that will last until you take your fingers off the frets (if not longer)! Want a real treat? Plug your bass guitar into the SD-2 and feel it come alive!

If you need tube amp response without tube amp volume, there's only one answer: The SD-2!~SUSTAINER %22D%22|GUY-SD2|~5623~5640~GUYATONE, SUSTAINER~

We all know there are plenty of digital multi-effect units out there, but how about an analog one that's so small it can fit in your shirt pocket? The TZ-2 Fuzz may appear simple at first glance, but once you plug it in you'll discover it's multiple uses.

A retro-style fuzz effect based on the vintage Univox Superfuzz, the concept behind the TZ-2 was to create distortion using methods other than waveform clipping. Unlike standard distortion and fuzz pedals, the TZ-2 produces a sawtooth waveform that yields a much ruder and cruder tone with a whopping low-end that makes it perfect for use with Bass as well as Guitar.

So where do we get off calling the TZ-2 a multi-effect? Well, its circuit contains a diode ring. Diode rings are used to add upper octave tones to an input signal (think Dan Armstrong Green Ringer or Tychobrahe Octavia). The TZ-2's upper octave tracks particularly well and is smoother and more subtle than most "boutique" octavia clones currently on the market. It even tracks well on Bass, creating a very unique, synth-like tone on upper register notes. In addition, playing double stops or chords through the TZ-2 will produce atonal, clangorous tones similar to a ring modulator, making it great for special effects and more unconventional applications.

VINTAGE TREMOLO~~VT-3 VINTAGE TREMOLO

Many of the classic tremolo tones of the 50's and 60's were produced using tube amps with built-in tremolos. Yet for some reason as time passed and technology advanced these incredibly simple, great-sounding circuits that provided such warm, choppy tremolo fell by the wayside and were forgotten.

Just what is tremolo? The term is often used incorrectly, such as when referring to a Guitar's whammy bar as a "tremolo." By definition, tremolo is amplitude modulation at a variable frequency. In English this means that the volume of a signal is increased and decreased at a specific rate. Now you can see why a Guitar's whammy bar is more correctly referred to as a "vibrato."

So why is it so hard to make a great-sounding tremolo? If we told you that, you wouldn't need us! However, if you absolutely must have a great-sounding tremolo, look no further than the Guyatone VT-3 Vintage Tremolo. The VT-3 lives up to its name, offering all the tight, pulsing tones that defined the classic tremolo sounds of years gone by. Developed after careful analysis of vintage amplifier tremolo circuits, the VT-3 offers a sine-wave tremolo that absolutely nails the sound of a vintage amp. Speed and Intensity controls allow the user to alter the effect from a painfully slow, barely audible dip to light-speed, shimmering stabs. The VT3's healthy level boost insures that your performance won't go unnoticed, a problem common with other units.

WAH ROCKER~~

MICRO SERIES - WR-3 WAH ROCKER

You may not have heard of the Wah Rocker, but you've definitely heard it. A secret weapon of countless pros, this diminutive auto wah has been smuggled back from Japan for years by savvy touring musicians looking for the ultimate funk tone.

Subsequently, the Wah Rocker has appeared on recordings by Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Salas, TM Stevens, Sass Jordan, David Torn, Bill Laswell, and Powerman 5000 to name just a few. Now Guyatone has improved on the original "duck box" to make it even funkier and more versatile than before - the result is the Guyatone WR-3 Wah Rocker!

While the unit's basic control setup remains the same (Threshold determines degree of the effect and Decay determines speed of the effect) the WR-3 features several updates to the original Wah Rocker circuit that greatly improve its functionality and performance.

The WR-2 circuit's filter sensitivity was set high to optimize it for use with "hot" pickups. However, lower output pickups had trouble triggering the filter effectively. To remedy this problem the WR-3's filter sensitivity has been improved, allowing for better note tracking and dynamic response.

Now the Wah Rocker can track even subtle picking nuances, allowing for much more creative and expressive use of the filter. This upgrade also offers improved performance for instruments with passive and/or lower output pickups, which means it will work equally well with a single coil Strat as it does with an active EMG-loaded Les Paul.

The biggest improvement to the WR3 has been the addition of a switchable Dry Blend function that mixes in clean signal against the effected signal. Since the Wah Rocker sweeps the entire frequency band when filtering, there can be some dramatic variations in volume as the signal "thins out" at the peak (hi frequencies only) and then "swamps" at the tail end of the sweep (low frequencies only). The addition of the blended Dry signal works to significantly improve the evenness of the unit's output level by eliminating volume peaks and dips caused by the filter motion.

This new feature dramatically improves the WR-3's low-end response, allowing the unit to be used equally well with Bass or Guitar. Just imagine a funky, filtered Bass playing in unison with a clean, unaffected one and you have an idea of just how useful this feature can be!

Of course, all the original Wah Rocker sounds are still attainable by keeping the Dry Blend switch in the off position; allowing you to get all the synth-like filter sweeps and throaty wah tones that made you fall in love with this pedal in the first place! A new twist on an old favorite, the WR3 takes a classic effect and brings it into the 21st century - Pound for pound, the Wah Rocker is still the funkiest filter that money can buy!SOLD OUT~WAH ROCKER|GUY-WR3|~5623~6979~GUYATONE, WAH ROCKER~
